Fasting for this vrat is 1st April 2023 (Saturday), On the Kamada Ekadashi day, people are doing fasting for full day and are forbidden to take rice. Devotess are doing” Japa” for Lord Vishnu and prayers as well. This festival is specially celebrated by Vaishavas. There are two types of ekadashis occur in one month but this one is considered to be an shubh time OR we can say that the lucky time is start now with the Kamada Ekadashi.
Vidhi: As per ritual you don not consumes even water until next morning. Special yajnas, speeches and discourses are held at every Vishnu temple across the nation.
इस एकादशी के एक दिन पूर्व यानी दशमी तिथि को जौ, गेहूं और मूंग की दाल आदि का सेवन निषेध माना गया है। बिना नमक का भोजन करें। रात्रि में भूमि पर हीं शयन करें। एकादशी के दिन प्रात:काल उठकर नित्य क्रम से निवृत हो मिट्टी, तिल एवं आंवले का लेप लगाकर स्नान करना चाहिये। उसके बाद स्वच्छ वस्त्र धारण करें। पूजा स्थल को शुद्ध कर लें। सभी सामग्री एकत्रित कर लें। धान्य को भूमि पर रखें, उसके ऊपर जल से भरा हुआ मिट्टी अथवा ताम्बे का कलश स्थापित करें। कलश पर लाल वस्त्र बांधे। धूप, दीप, पुष्प आदि से कलश का पूजन करें। श्री विष्णु जी का पूजन षोडशोपचार विधि से करें। पुष्प, माला अर्पित करे। धूप, दीप दिखायें और भोग लगायें। तत्पश्चात एकादशी की कथा सुने अथवा सुनायें। श्री विष्णु भगवान एवं एकादशी माता की आरती करें। रात्रि जागरण करें। द्वादशी के दिन प्रात: स्नान कर पूजन करें। ब्राह्मण को दान दें। इसके उपरांत भोजन ग्रहण करें।
