According to the Hindu calendar 2023, the festival of Dhanteras  2022 (धनतेरस) is celebrated every year on the Trayodashi Tithi of Krishna Paksha in the month of Kartik. This is the first festival of the week of Diwali which is called as Dhanteras. It is said that by worshiping Lord Dhanvantari Dev and Maa Lakshmi on this day, You will never face shortage of money in your life and health also increases. As we know that Diwali begins with the festival of Dhantrayodashi 2023 which is also known as “Dhanvantari Trayodashi” (धन्वंतरि त्र्योश्दी) and Dhanvantari Avataran Diwas (धनवंतरि अवतरण दिवस). The Pradosh vrat is also very important in this day. Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati are worshiped on this day as well. According to religious belief, by worshiping on this day, the store of wealth is always filled in the house and wealth increase.

Dhanteras 2023 Ki Puja Vidhi (धनतेरस पूजा विधि 2023)

• On this day before the worship, light a lamp by placing a shell (कौड़ी) at the main door of the house.
• On the evening of Dhanteras, spread red colored cloth on a post.
• Now sanctify it by sprinkling Gangajal on it.
• Install Lord Kuber and Dhanvantari Dev towards the north in auspicious time in the evening.
• The idol or picture of Maa Lakshmi and Shri Ganesh Ji should also be installed.
• Light a lamp of ghee in front them.
• Place a lamp outside the house or on the terrace facing south.
• Start worshiping properly.
• Tilak to Maa Lakshmi, Lord Kubera Ji and Shree Ganesha Ji.
• Offer things like flowers, fruits to them.
• Use rice, roli, sandalwood, incense and lamp in worship.
• Now offer white sweets (सफेद मिष्ठान) to the deity Kubera.
• Offer yellow sweets to Lord Dhanwantari Dev.
• Keep chanting this mantra ‘ऊं ह्रीं कुबेराय नमः’ during the worship.
• Recite “Dhanvantari Stotram” as well.
• Dhanvantari Stotra should be recited on this day to please Lord Dhanvantari.
• After worship, install Kuber at the place of wealth and Dhanvantari (धनवंतरि) at the place of worship on day of Diwali.
