Shakti Peethas are places where the body parts of Sati fell after her self-immolation. As per the “Pithamala Grantha”, Sati’s right foot fell here during Lord Shiva’s Tandava dance.

The Tripura Sundari Temple was built in the 15th century by Maharaja Dhanya Manikya. The temple is a beautiful example of Bengali architecture, with a four-tiered roof and intricate carvings. The main shrine of the temple houses a black stone idol of Tripura Sundari, which is said to be self-manifested.
